Sweetgrass Braid (Nêhiyaw territory)

Harvested and braided in Saskatchewan on Nêhiyaw territory.

Sweetgrass is used in smudges, healing, or talking circles because it has a healing effect. The smoke from burning sweetgrass is believed to purify thoughts, the environment, and to eliminate bad or negative energies.

Directions for use:   To burn, separate the strands at the end, light preferably with a wooden match and agitate to maintain the combustion. One can also cut a few strands to mix with the other Indigenous medicine.

If used indoors, open a window for a few moments.
