"Reflecting on who we are as Pentl'ach people, I return to this deep water being. The connections we have to the Xwi Xwi or Xway Xway is strong. Like many of our dances, it has come to various families through ancestry and marriage. This design began as I prepared to attend a baby blessing ceremony for Jesse Recalma's little one. We share Pentl'ach ancestors and come together in ceremony and song to uphold those connections in community."
