Plaque - Orca
The Orca plaques were hand-carved and painted by Nanoose artist, Brian Bob. A salmon head is carved into the body of the whale and features paua shell inlays.
Whale is a symbol of great strength, bravery, family and unity.
The Salmon is known to be the giver of life. It is also symbol of prosperity and new beginnings.

Brian Bob is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth (Nootka) First Nation on Vancouver Island. His given name is Qquyutsapool which means "Policer of the wolves". Brian is known for his wood creations, truly keeping the tradition of his peoples in mind. He loves his art and is constantly developing new designs.
