Brian Bob is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth (Nootka) First Nation on Vancouver Island. His given name is Qquyutsapool which means "Policer of the wolves". Brian's mother is Fran Touchie who practiced whaling from traditional dugout cedar canoes, his father was WIlson Bob. Wilson was the hereditary chief of the Snaw-naw-as Nation, from Nanoose Bay. Brian also has Coast Salish roots through heritage.
Brian is known for his wood creations, truly keeping the tradition of his peoples in mind. He clearly loves his art and is constantly developing new designs.
