The Salmon Duo plaque was hand-carved and painted by Penelakut artist, Delbert Peter.

The Salmon is known to be the giver of life. It is also symbol of prosperity and new beginnings.

Delbert is a Coast Salish carver from Penelakut (formerly Kuper) Island. Belonging to the Penelakut First Nation, the island is located in the southern Gulf Island chain in the Strait of Georgia, off the east coast of Vancouver Island.
