The Raven plaque was hand-carved and painted by Tsawataineuk artist, Jackson Robertson. It was made with cedar and abalone shell inlay.
The Raven is a trickster and is responsible for putting the sun, moon, and stars into the sky.

Jackson Roberston is a Master Carver from the Northwest coast of Canada, British Columbia. He has been carving mainly yellow and red cedar for over 40 years. His Tribal affiliation is the Tsawataineuk First Nation from Kingcome Inlet, BC but he lived most of his life in Nanaimo.
