Description
"Common Nettle (Urtica dioica), also known as Stinging Nettle, is a perennial herb recognized by its stinging hairs, which deliver a painful, itchy rash upon contact, but this sting is neutralized by cooking or drying. It's a nutritious plant, rich in vitamins and minerals, historically used in traditional medicine and as a food source, often found in moist, rich soils in full sun or partial. Indigenous people of the coast often make teas with it but in ceremonial healing they would also use the plant as a whip to impact areas like a topical relief.
"This is always the first plant to pop out for us. Where the sunlight warms the ground during the day, you can find these magical little wonders reaching for the sky.
Within another couple weeks, harvesting will begin.
"We take care of our nettle patch by never removing the roots from the ground. We carefully snip the top 1/4 of the plants so it continues to grow. If you harvest sustainably, you can visit your patches again and again until they seed in the late summer.
I have been harvesting from this patch for 17 years and it keeps growing every season."

"It’s not about how much medicine you can make- its about how powerful you make it. We could have easily made 1000 tins of salve but instead made 100 of a very powerful medicine. The process to creating this magic requires patience, love, and positive intent. The relationship between harvester and plant MUST be one of love and respect.
As medicine makers we handle these subjects with care and respect to other nations traditions. Our medicine is made according to our teachings and beliefs and that is the way we teach.
This is a business that supports us in this work BUT this began and will always remain a calling, something we do to help our people. It is our way of taking care of the many and spreading our love for humanity far and wide through healing." -CorVee Forest Forager
