The Baby Seal "basking in the sun" as described by Nanoose artist, Brian Bob, is hand-carved and painted out of cedar with paua shell inlay.

Seal is fearless, agile, trusting, and playful.

Brian Bob is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth (Nootka) First Nation on Vancouver Island. He is known for his wood creations, truly keeping the tradition of his peoples in mind. He clearly loves his art and is constantly developing new designs.
