Bentwood boxes were made to hold history, store regalia and other treasured items. These boxes of treasure help preserve ancestors' legacies. Another distinguishing aspect is their construction - traditionally they were steamed then bent
The body of the container is constructed using only a single piece of West Coast cedar.

Orcas are free spirits. They are the masters of their own adventures, and navigate life with their hearts.
The Raven and the Sun
This piece symbolizes the well known tale of how the Raven stole the sun and placed it in the sky as an offering to the world.
Raven - "The Trickster"
The Raven is a natural born performer. This piece represents the Raven’s playfulness as he stole the sun, only to offer it to all earth's creatures.
Wolf - "The Protector"
Wolves are the guardians of their families. They embody unconditinal support, safety and togetherness.

Shain Jackson is a Coast Salish artist from the First Nation community of Sechelt. He is also a lawyer who has represented Aboriginal communities throughout British Columbia.
Ray Natraoro (Khaapulk, Sessiiyam) is a Coast Salish Artist from the Squamish Nation. He is celebrated for his work in mask carving as well as the carving of large sea-going canoes, a tradition passed down many generations in Ray's family.
Aaron Nelson Moody (Tawx’sin Yexwulla) From the Cheak’mus village of the Squamish Nation, Aaron is a full-time artist, working in the Coast Salish style of First Nations art. He is well known for having carved the entrance doors for Canada House at the Olympics in Torino.
