Wayne Paquin is of Red River Metis Ancestry, with Cree great grandmothers, and French voyageur and Michif great grandfathers. As with the generations before him, he is always closely connected with the Natural World.
Always able to work creatively with his hands, Wayne has a unique ability to invoke the spirit of the wood in the creation of his pieces, tapping into their essence to present them as beings with unique identities that can bring warmth, comfort, and vibrancy to their surroundings. He works primarily with Freshwater Driftwood, which helps to preserve natural forms and gives the wood a softer quality than wood exposed to salt water.
