Phil Vaillancourt

Phil Vaillancourt is a Mi K'maq native living in Comox, BC on Vancouver Island.

Tom LaFortune (Tsawout First Nation) is his first original mentor, and he also has Haida, Tsimshian, and Tlingit mentors. He has been trained in formline design, history, and technique.

Whether carving a ceremonial mask to be danced, or creating a tattoo or print design, his Vision to create strong work represents his integrity to honour the art form and keep its roots intact.
