This striking Orca, Eagle, Salmon and Raven yellow cedar plaque is hand carved and painted by Coast Salish First Nation artist Alfred Crocker. The eyes of the all the animals are accented with Abalone.
The whale is a symbol of great strength, bravery, family and unity.
The Eagle is a loyal animal who mate for life and are often seen as symbols of peace and friendship.
Salmon is seen as the giver of life, salmon represents prosperity and new beginnings.
Raven is responsible for putting the sun, moon and the stars in the sky. Raven symbolizes prestige and knowledge.
Abalone healing carries energies of protection and emotional balance. It brings with it a natural shielding that blesses the person holding it with tranquility.

Alfred was born in 1950, and is from Chemainus BC. He started carving in 1991 and was instructed by Tommy Paul, who is also his inspriration.
