Ray Bob is from the house of Niin' si' ya (Wilson Bob Jr)
Born in Nanaimo, BC in 1960 of Nuu chah nulth and Coast Salish ancestry.
Rays grandfater Wallace Touchie was a Nuu chah nulth carver and canoe builder, father Wilson Bob Jr., is a caver and artist, who received teachings from late George Clutesi.
Much or Rays work is done on Red Cedar and Yellow Cedar panels using the natural colours of the wood and grain.
Although Ray doe work on canvas, he loves the feel of cedar.
Ray is largely self taught, man of his works are based on legends of the Pacific Northwest Coast and he has been painting since 1986.
