Print Unframed - Hummingbird and Dogwood (16.5" x 13.5")
Artist: Connie Dickens
Where the Skeena River meets the Bulkley River is the traditional territory of the Gitxsan people. The Gitxsan are a part of the Tsimshian Nation and my Grandfather was of Gitxsan descent.
To the Gitxsan, Jin, hummingbird in Gitxsanimaax, brought luck to the people. A feather from a live hummingbird was a valuable addition to the medicine bags worn around the neck.
The Dogwood tree is Native to British Columbia and the Dogwood flower is our Provincial flower.
