The Kingfisher plaque was hand-carved and painted by Nanoose First Nation artist, Brian Bob. It is made out of cedar and has abalone inlays.

Brian Bob is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth (Nootka) First Nation on Vancouver Island. His given name is Qquyutsapool which means "Policer of the wolves". Brian is known for his wood creations, truly keeping the tradition of his peoples in mind. He loves his art and is constantly developing new designs.
