Framed Art Card - Summer’s Sonnet (12" x 9")
I love walking through the meadows in summertime and witnessing these strange, intriguing, yet wonderfully beautiful creatures buzzing through the air. Looking like insects from another era, they change direction with the dexterity of a helicopter flown by an expert pilot. They stop to hover and fly off once again. Low. High. All around.
Once in a while, though, they stop: resting on a table or on a leaf or perched precariously on a blade of grass. The world focuses in on their iridescence. It contrasts sharply with the muted colours of the background. It is at times like this that nature produces a most perfect sonnet.
It is a profound moment that allows for inner reflection. It is an instant of connection where both you and the dragonfly are still and part of the same environment. The world fades away and you live in the moment. The wind whispers poetry into your ears. Your eyes soak in your surroundings and read to you a Summer’s Sonnet.
