Bentwood Box - Raven and Sun (Medium)
This beautiful box features a Raven & Sun design by Aaron Nelson Moody. From the Cheak’mus village of the Squamish Nation, Aaron is a full-time artist, working in the Coast Salish style of First Nations art. He is well known for having carved the entrance doors for Canada House at the Olympics in Torino.

This piece symbolizes the well known tale of how the Raven stole the sun and placed it in the sky as an offering to the world.
Bentwood boxes we made to hold history, store regalia and other treasured items. These boxes of treasure help preserve ancestor's legacies. Another distinguishing aspect is there construction traditionally they were steamed then bent. The body of the container is constructed using only a single piece of West Coast cedar.
