Tsimshian native artist Bill Helin enjoys a very rewarding career as a creative gold engraver, painter, woodcarver, and book illustrator. He loves to paint mythological images to educate people on the history of the Tsimshian nation and the many stories passed down through his ancestors. His greatest passion however is to spiritually represent and bond individuals together through the use of native Life Crest symbols. The art of Bill Helin is reproduced in collaboration with the artist and royalties are paid to the artist on each item sold.

About The Artist

Bill Helin
Tsimshian Norwegian artist Bill Helin (WeLaaxumYout) was born in Prince Rupert B.C. in 1960. He began working as an artist in 1979, creating traditional Tsimshian wood carvings, jewelry and painting.
His art has ranged from creating large wood projects such as the 40 foot Ravensong Canoe in 1993 and working on the world's largest totem pole in 1994 to the illustration of a range of children's books
Bill has also worked with NASA and the Canadian Space Agency to create mission patches for astronauts and related educational materials.
