Small Woven Basket - Whale (Red & Green)
The weavers of the Nuu-chah-nulth Nation produce some of the finest and most delicately woven pieces from split cedar bark and swamp grass. The bark and grasses are harvested, soaked and split to create baskets, hats, trays and more. The grass is dyed and woven in varying colours.
This basket was woven by Nuu-Chah-Nulth First Nation artist Christina Cox.
This basket has the whale on one side and two people in a canoe on the other.
