Small Woven Basket - Two in a Canoe (Black)
This basket was woven by Nuu-Chah-Nulth First Nation artist Christina Cox it has the whale on one side and two people in a canoe on the other.
The weavers of the Nuu-chah-nulth Nation produce some of the finest and most delicately woven pieces from split cedar bark and swamp grass. The bark and grasses are harvested, soaked and split to create baskets, hats, trays and more.
The grass is dyed and woven to depict two people in a canoe on one side and a whale on the other with a blue and pink border
