Framed Art Card - Ladies in Waiting (Ladybug)
As I sit here, the days get shorter and shorter and the nights get longer and longer. The winds sweep through the Comox Valley bringing with it torrential rains. Leaves have changed colour and are filling yards and roads. Winter is approaching and life is cold and damp on the wet west coast.
The grey skies and numerous dreary days have inspired me to look towards a creature that is sure to put a smile on one’s face—the ladybug. These magnificent insects are heralded by gardeners and children alike. They eat the bad bugs and fill kids with luck and whimsy.
During the winter months, the ladybug finds a cozy spot to hibernate and waits for the first warming, drying rays of the spring sunshine. Much like the “Ladies in Waiting,” I, too, am facing all that winter has to offer and am secretly anticipating the coming of spring.
