Micheal Martin has been carving for eight years under the apprenticeship of his uncle Joe Dan and Willie Dan of the Musqueam Reserve.
Micheal was born in Omak, Washington on February 22, 1965. His mother is from the Colville Band in Washington State and his father is a member of the Nanaimo Band. Micheal spent his early years in La Conner, Washington where he began his carving career.
Micheal is married with three children, and lives in Nanaimo, B.C. where he carves out of his home.
