This stunning Orca, Eagle, Salmon and Sea Monster yellow cedar plaque is hand carved and painted by Coast Salish First Nation artist Alfred Crocker. The eyes of the all the animals are accented with Abalone, also the belly of the salmon has accents of Copper which represents Salmon Eggs.
The whale is a symbol of great strength, bravery, family and unity.
The Eagle is a loyal animal who mate for life and are often seen as symbols of peace and friendship.
Salmon is seen as the giver of life, salmon represents prosperity and new beginnings.
Sisiutl is a supernatural three headed serpent that possesses powerful shape shifting abilities, and when looked at turned spectators into stone. Not only can the Sisiutl change shape into a human or animal it can change its shape into a self propelled canoe fed by seals.
Abalone healing carries energies of protection and emotional balance. It brings with it a natural shielding that blesses the person holding it with tranquility.

About The Artist
Alfred was born in 1950, and is from Chemainus BC. He started carving in 1991 and was instructed by Tommy Paul, who is also his inspriration.
