Coast Salish First Nation artist Alfred Crocker hand carved and painted this unique Halibut yellow cedar plaque.
Halibut is an abundant food source, it is believed the Halibut threw off its skin and fins to emerge as the first Human after the Great Flood subsided.

About The Artist
Alfred was born in 1950, and is from Chemainus BC. He started carving in 1991 and was instructed by Tommy Paul, who is also his inspriration.
Alfred, who is also a fisherman by trade, enjoys carving plaques and bowls
