Mask - Ridiculed Man
This spectacular Ridicule mask was hand carved by Kingcome Inlet First Nations artist Willie Hawkins. Painted with acrylic paints and hand carved from Cedar.
This mask is one of the transformation masks. The ridicule mask is used to facilitate conflict resolution. They are created when two parties are having a disagreements. The mask is placed in the Feast Hall, and remains on display until there is an apology or restitution, upon which the mask is burned.
