Kwakwaka'wakw artist, Karver Everson hand carved and painted this impressive Eagle headdress mask. The mask adorns Copper eyes and Cedar accents.
The Eagle is a very high ranking crest within Kwakwaka'wakw culture. The Eagle was the first to feast and theres often an Eagle Chief for each family. Copper was used for the eyes on this mask, in Kwakwaka'wakw culture it is often associated with prestige and wealth.
Eagle is loyal and full of love, dedication, peace, and friendship.

Karver Everson was born in Comox, BC in 1993 and named Gayustistalas - a name that once belonged to his father, Chief Rob Everson of the Gigal’gam Walas Kwagut from the Kwakwaka’wakw. Influenced greatly by his family’s connection to their cultural heritage, Karver has always been keen to learn and uphold the cultural traditions of the K’omoks and Kwakwaka’wakw First Nations.
