This amazing red Cedar Eagle Paddle is hand carved and hand painted by Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation artist Ross Henderson.
Eagle is a symbol of peace and friendship. They are loyal animals full of lasting lover and dedication.
The traditional carved paddles are used by many West Coast First Nations people to steer and paddle the large cedar canoes in the coastal waters of the Northwest Pacific. Native Paddles are also used during ceremonial dances.
