These gorgeous copper earrings are hand crafted by Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation artist Clyde Dawson. These earrings are textured concave copper discs accented beautifully with abalone hearts. The hooks on these earrings are copper.
Native copper, or placer copper was used to make the coppers used along the Northwest Pacific Coast. The copper was usually obtained from Alaska and the Nass River. Copper is known as the lucky metal to some and as the healing metal to others - in Kwakwaka'wakw, the copper symbolizes wealth. Each copper has its own name, history and value.
Abalone Shell is said to enhance feelings of peace, compassion and love.

Clyde Dawson
Clyde Dawson is a member of the Dzawada'enuxw First Nation. He grew up in U’kwanalis (Kingcome Inlet) And has been making jewelry for over a year now. And although new to the craft, the passion and creativity is evident in the jewelry he makes.
This most recent craft Clyde has picked up shows that it’s never too late to learn a new skill. Each piece is filled with love and care. And all of which are uniquely their own, with the possibility of recreation of course. But as all art is, they’re truly one of a kind. Making a special gift for you or a loved one.
